• He was born to British parents in Darussalam in Tanzania in 1964.

• He was educated at a famous Roman Catholic Monastic School called Ampleforth College and went on to study history in the London University. However, he left his education unfinished.

• He was dissatisfied with Christianity since the age of eight.

• He was practising Buddhism for nearly three years though he never formally embraced it.

• His study of the Noble Qur’an immediately attracted him to Islam and he embraced Islam in 1988. He has been a Daw’ah practitioner in Britain since then.

• He wears a look that instantly evokes comparison with the popular portrayal of the Prophet Jesus (Pbuh) in the imagery of Christian Europe.

• He has two wives, both British-born Muslims of Indian origin and six children.

Dr Laurence Brown<\/strong><\/span>

A product of Christian-American ancestry dating back to the year 1677, up until his conversion to Islam in April of 1994, Dr. Brown easily could have passed as an example of a man who lived the stereotypical American dream.

A graduate from two Ivy League universities with subspecialty training in ophthalmology, Dr. Brown served as a respected ophthalmologist in the U.S. Air Force for a period of eight years. His term of service was distinguished by earning the position of Chief of Ophthalmology, both at Lakenheath Air Force Base in England and at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida (the largest military base in the free world).

Midway through his Air Force career, Dr. Brown's ‘ideal American family' included a wife, two children, a country estate, the requisite two cars and a dog, and the full array of comforts and toys which clutter the houses and lives of those preoccupied with materialism. Yet Dr. Brown ended up sacrificing virtually everything he had worked for when he faced a religious conviction which overturned his lifelong priorities.

Following a personal miracle through which the life of his daughter was spared, Dr. Brown redirected his focus to religious study in an attempt to make good on a promise made to God. In the process, Dr. Brown followed the chain of revelation through the Abrahamic religions from Judaism to Christianity and, in the end, to Islam. It is the result of that study which he relates in his most religiously challenging of books. In the same manner that Dr. Brown's choice of religion confronted his slice of the American dream, so too do his religious conclusions threaten to upset the Western religious establishment.

Laurence Brown received his BA from Cornell University, his MD from Brown University Medical School, and his ophthalmology residency training at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. Abd Ar-Rahim Green<\/strong><\/span>

• Lanky, blonde, green-eyed, 33-years-old Abdur Rahim Green appears to be a character straight out of a Hollywood movie Ben Hur.

• He was born to British parents in Darussalam in Tanzania in 1964.

• He was educated at a famous Roman Catholic Monastic School called Ampleforth College and went on to study history in the London University. However, he left his education unfinished.

• He was dissatisfied with Christianity since the age of eight.

• He was practising Buddhism for nearly three years though he never formally embraced it.

• His study of the Noble Qur’an immediately attracted him to Islam and he embraced Islam in 1988. He has been a Daw’ah practitioner in Britain since then.

• He wears a look that instantly evokes comparison with the popular portrayal of the Prophet Jesus (Pbuh) in the imagery of Christian Europe.

• He has two wives, both British-born Muslims of Indian origin and six children.

• Currently, he is working with an Islamic media company based in England and engages himself in da’wah activities including lectures on Islam in London’s famous Hyde Park. He is well known for his efforts at the renowned \"Speaker’s Corner\" in London’s Hyde Park.

\r\nA medical doctor by professional training, Dr Zakir Naik is renowned as a dynamic international orator on Islam and Comparative Religion. He is the president of Islamic Research Foundation, Mumbai. He is 49 years old. Dr Zakir clarifies Islamic viewpoints and clears misconceptions about Islam, using the Qur’an, authentic Hadith and other religious Scriptures as a basis, in conjunction with reason, logic and scientific facts. He is popular for his critical analysis and convincing answers to challenging questions posed by audiences after his public talks.

\r\nAmongst the billion plus population of India Dr Zakir Naik was ranked No. 82 in the ‘100 Most Influential People in India’ list published by Indian Express in the year 2009 and ranked No. 89 in 2010. \r\nShaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President & Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, presented the prestigious Dubai International Holy Quran Award’s ‘Islamic Personality of 2013’ Award on 29th July 2013, for providing outstanding services to Islam and Muslims at a global level in Media, Education and Philanthropy, to Dr Zakir Naik, along with a cash reward of UAE Dirhams 1 million (approx. US $272,000) which he promptly donated to start a Waqf (endowment) fund for Peace TV Network. Dr Zakir at 47 years, was the youngest recipient of the award.

\r\nAgong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, the king and head of state of Malaysia, conferred Dr Zakir Naik the highest award of Malaysia the ‘Tokoh Ma’al Hijrah Distinguished International Personality Award for the Year 2013’ for his significant service and contribution to the development of Islam on 5th November 2013. \r\nShaikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of UAE and Ruler of Sharjah, presented Dr Zakir Naik the ‘Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work’ for the year 2013, for his voluntary services for Islam on an international scale, on 16th January 2014 at a special ceremony in Sharjah.
