Should be recited after Fajr and before Jumaa Prayer or anytime on Friday?  Also, is it from the Sunna to recite Surat Al-Imran on Friday?  And if so, when is the correct time to do so?","answer":"<div class=\"answer\">\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Praise be to Allaah.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">There are saheeh ahaadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) concerning the virtues of reciting&nbsp;<em>Soorat al-Kahf<\/em>during the day or night of Jumu&rsquo;ah (Friday). These include:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(a)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; From Abu Sa&rsquo;eed al-Khudri, who said: &ldquo;Whoever reads<em>Soorat al-Kahf<\/em>&nbsp;on the night of Jumu&rsquo;ah, will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Ka&rsquo;bah).&rdquo;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(Narrated by al-Daarimi, 3407. This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in&nbsp;<em>Saheeh al-Jaami<\/em>, 6471)&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(b)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &ldquo;Whoever reads&nbsp;<em>Soorat al-Kahf<\/em>&nbsp;on the day of Jumu&rsquo;ah, will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.&rdquo;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(Narrated by al-Haakim, 2\/399; al-Bayhaqi, 3\/249. Ibn Hajar said in<em>Takhreej al-Adhkaar<\/em>&nbsp;that this is a hasan hadeeth, and he said, this is the strongest report that has been narrated concerning reading&nbsp;<em>Soorat al-Kahf<\/em>. See:&nbsp;<em>Fayd al-Qadeer<\/em>, 6\/198. It was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in&nbsp;<em>Saheeh al-Jaami&rsquo;<\/em>, 6470)&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(c)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It was narrated that Ibn &lsquo;Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: &ldquo;The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: &lsquo;Whoever reads&nbsp;<em>Soorat al-Kahf<\/em>&nbsp;on the day of Jumu&rsquo;ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (his sins) between the two Fridays.&rsquo;&rdquo;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Al-Mundhiri said, this was narrated by Abu Bakr ibn Mardawayh in his<em>Tafseer<\/em>, with an isnaad with which there was nothing wrong.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(<em>al-Targheeb wa&rsquo;l-Tarheeb<\/em>, 1\/298)&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The soorah may be read during the night or the day of Jumu&rsquo;ah. The night of Jumu&rsquo;ah starts from sunset on Thursday, and the day of Jumu&rsquo;ah ends at sunset. Therefore the time for reading this soorah extends from sunset on Thursday to sunset on Friday.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Al-Mannaawi said:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Al-Haafiz ibn Hajar said in his&nbsp;<em>Amaali<\/em>: &ldquo;In some reports it says &lsquo;the day of Jumu&rsquo;ah&rsquo; and in some reports it says &lsquo;the night of Jumu&rsquo;ah&rsquo;. They may be reconciled by saying that what is meant is the day which includes the night and vice versa.&rdquo; (<em>Fayd al-Qadeer<\/em>, 6\/199) &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Al-Mannaawi also said:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">&ldquo;It is recommended to read it during the day or night of Jumu&rsquo;ah, as al-Shaafa'i (may Allaah have mercy on him) stated.&rdquo; (<em>Fayd al-Qadeer<\/em>, 6\/198)&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">There are no saheeh ahaadeeth concerning reading&nbsp;<em>Soorat Aal &lsquo;Imraan<\/em>on Friday. All the reports that have been narrated concerning that are either&nbsp;<em>da&rsquo;eef jiddan<\/em>&nbsp;(very weak) or&nbsp;<em>mawdoo&rsquo;<\/em>&nbsp;(fabricated).&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">It was narrated that Ibn &lsquo;Abbaas said: &ldquo;The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: &lsquo;Whoever recites the soorah in which the family of &lsquo;Imraan (<em>Aal &lsquo;Imraan<\/em>) are mentioned on Fridays, Allaah and His angels will send blessings upon him until the sun sets.&rsquo;&rdquo;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">(Narrated by al-Tabaraani in&nbsp;<em>al-Mu&rsquo;jam al-Awsat<\/em>, 6\/191; and&nbsp;<em>al-Kabeer<\/em>, 11\/48. This hadeeth is&nbsp;<em>da&rsquo;eef jiddan<\/em>&nbsp;(very weak) or&nbsp;<em>mawdoo&rsquo;<\/em>(fabricated)).&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Al-Haythami said, &ldquo;This was narrated by al-Tabaraani in&nbsp;<em>al-Awsat<\/em>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<em>al-Kabeer<\/em>, and it [its isnaad] includes Talhah ibn Zayd al-Riqqi, who is<em>da&rsquo;eef<\/em>&nbsp;(<em>jiddan<\/em>) ((very) weak).&rdquo; (<em>Majma&rsquo; al-Zawaa&rsquo;id<\/em>, 2\/168).&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Ibn Hajar said: Talhah is very weak, and Ahmad and Abu Dawood accused him of fabricating reports. (See&nbsp;<em>Fayd al-Qadeer<\/em>, 6\/199)&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Shaykh al-Albaani said: (it is)&nbsp;<em>mawdoo&rsquo;<\/em>&nbsp;(fabricated). See hadeeth no. 5759 in&nbsp;<em>Da&rsquo;eef<\/em>&nbsp;<em>al-Jaami&rsquo;<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">And al-Taymi narrated in&nbsp;<em>al-Targheeb<\/em>&nbsp;that &ldquo;Whoever recites&nbsp;<em>Soorat al-Baqarah<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Soorat Aal &lsquo;Imraan<\/em>&nbsp;on the night of Jumu&rsquo;ah will have reward like that which is between the seventh earth and the seventh heaven.&rdquo;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Al-Mannaawi said, it is&nbsp;<em>ghareeb da&rsquo;eef jiddan<\/em>&nbsp;(strange and very weak).(<em>Fayd al-Qadeer<\/em>, 6\/199)&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">And Allaah knows best.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"source\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid<\/span><\/div>\r\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>","status":1,"created_at":"2015-05-22T06:00:00.000000Z","updated_at":"2015-05-22T06:00:00.000000Z","language_id":1,"fatawacate_id":25,"parent_id":6169,"author_id":"","books":[],"articles":[],"videos":[],"audios":[],"author_name":"","category_name":"Virtues of Quraan","category_slug":"","get_date":"2015-05-22"},"translations":[],"fatawa_books":[],"fatawa_articles":[],"fatawa_videos":[],"fatawa_audios":[],"url":"http:\/\/www.islamland.com\/eng\/api\/fatawas\/6170"}
