{"fatawa":{"id":7143,"title":"Hadeeth about the one who is secure in his property","slug":"hadeeth-about-the-one-who-is-secure-in-his-property","order":"","question":"What is the authenticity of the following hadeeth: the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: \"When someone is secure in his property, healthy in his body and has his food for the day, it is as if he owned the entire world\u201d.","answer":"Praise be to Allaah.\r\nThis hadeeth was narrated by Salamah ibn \u2018Ubayd-Allaah ibn Mihsan al-Khatmi, from his father, who met the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: \u201cThe one among you who wakes up secure in his property, healthy in his body and has his food for the day, it is as if the whole world were brought to him.\u201d \r\n\r\nNarrated by al-Bukhaari in al-Adab al-Mufrad (no. 300) and by al-Tirmidhi in al-Sunan (2346). He said: It is hasan ghareeb. \r\n\r\nShaykh al-Albaani (may Allaah have mercy on him) said, after narrating the hadeeth from a number of the Sahaabah: To sum up, the hadeeth is hasan in sha Allaah, when taking into account the hadeeths of al-Ansaari and Ibn \u2018Umar. And Allaah knows best. End quote. Al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (no. 2318). \r\n\r\nAl-Mubaarakfoori (may Allaah have mercy on him) said, commenting on this hadeeth: \r\n\r\nThe words \u201cThe one among you who wakes up\u201d means, among you O believers. \u201cSecure\u201d means not fearing an enemy. \u201cIn his property (fi sirbihi) means feeling secure within himself; it was also said that it means feeling secure within the group, i.e., within his family and dependents. And it was said that it means on his path or way, or that it means in his house. This was mentioned by al-Qaari quoting from some of the commentators. Al-Turbashti said: \r\n\r\nMu\u2019aafa (translated as healthy) means safe and sound with no illness and sickness. \r\n\r\n\u201cIn his body\u201d means both outwardly and inwardly. \u201cAnd has his food for the day\u201d means enough food from halaal sources. \u201cIt is as if the whole world were brought to him.\u201d  \r\n\r\nEnd quote.
