The Rabbi of Makhachkala synagogue embraced Islam.  Every person has a different way of coming to the Truth.  For Moisha Krivitsky this way led through a faculty of law, a synagogue and a prison.  The lawyer-to-be becomes a Rabbi, then he converts into Islam and finds himself in prison.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Today Musa[1]<\/a>  (this is the name he has adopted when he became a Muslim) lives in a small mosque in Al-Burikent, a mountain area of Makhachkala, and works as a watchman in the Central Juma mosque.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Musa, before we began talking, you asked what we were going to talk about.  I said: About you.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: What’s so interesting about me?  If you wondered.  Then I live in the mosque..<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: How did you come to live in the mosque?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Well, I just dropped in... and stayed.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Did you find the way easily?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: With great difficulty.  It was hard then, and it isn’t much easier now.  When you go deeply into Islam its inner meaning, you understand that this religion is very simple, but the way that leads to it may be extremely difficult.  Often, people don’t understand how a person could be converted into Islam from the other side, as it were.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

But there are no other sides here.  Islam is everything there is, both what we imagine and what we don’t imagine.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Musa, as a matter of fact, we were given this fact as a certain sensation: a Rabbi has turned Muslim.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Well, it has been no sensation for quite a long while already - it’s more than a year that I did this.  It was strange for me at first, too.  But it wasn’t an off-the-cuff decision.  When I came into Islam, I had read books about it, I had been interested.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Did you finish any high school before coming to the synagogue?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Yes, I finished a clerical high school.  After graduation, I came to Makhachkala, and became the local Rabbi.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: And where did you come from?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Oh, from far away.  But I have already become a true Daghestani, I have got a lot of friends here - both among Muslims and people who are far from Islam.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Let’s return to your work in the synagogue.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: It was quite a paradoxical situation: there was a mosque near my synagogue, the town mosque.  Sometimes my fiends who were its parishioners would come to me - just to chat.  I sometimes would come to the mosque myself, to see how the services were carried out.  I was very interested.  So we lived like good neighbors.  And once, during Ramadan, a woman came to me - as I now understand, she belonged to a people that was historically Muslim - and she asked me to comment the Russian translation of the Quran made by Krachkovsky.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: She brought the Quran to you - a Rabbi?!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Yes, and she asked me to give her the Torah to read in return.  So I tried to read the Quran - about ten times.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

It was really hard, but gradually I began to understand, and to get a basic notion of Islam.  (Here, Musa looked at my friend’s son, the six-year old Ahmed, who had fallen asleep in the mosque courtyard.  \"Should we probably take him inside the mosque?\"  asked Musa.) And that woman had brought back the Torah.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

It turned out to be very difficult for her to read and understand it, because religious literature requires extreme concentration and attention.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Musa, and when you were reading the translation, you must have begun to compare it with the Torah?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: I had found answers to many questions in the Quran.  Not to all of them, of course, because it wasn’t the Arabic original, but the translation.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

But I had begun to understand things.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Does it mean that you couldn’t find some answers in Judaism?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: I don’t know, there’s Allah’s will in everything.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Apparently, those Jews who became Muslims in the times of the Prophet, couldn’t find some answers in Judaism, but found them in Islam.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Perhaps, they were attracted by the personality of the Prophet, his behavior, his way of communicating with people.  Its an important topic.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: And what exactly were the questions that you couldn’t find answers to in Judaism?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Before I came into contact with Islam, there were questions which I had never even tried to find answers to.  Probably, an important part here had been played by a book written by Ahmad Deedat, a South African scholar, comparing the Quran and the Bible.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

There is a key phrase, well-known to those who are familiar with religious issues: e.g. Follow the Prophet who is yet to cometh.  And when I studied Islam, I understood that the Prophet Muhammad is the very Prophet to be followed.  Both the Bible and the Torah tell us to do it.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

I haven’t invented anything here.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: And what does the Torah say about the Prophet?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: We wont be able to find this name in the Torah.  But we can figure it out using a special key.  For example, we can understand what god this or that particular person in history worships.  The formula describing the last Prophet [may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him] is that he would worship One God, the Sole Creator of the world.  The Prophet Muhammad matches this description exactly.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

When I read this, I got very interested.  I hadn’t known anything about Islam before that.  Then I decided to look deeper into the matter and see whether there were any miracles and signs connected with the name of the Prophet.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The Bible tells us that the Lord sends miracles to the prophets to confirm their special mission in people’s eyes.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

I asked the alims<\/em> (scholars) about this, and they said: Here’s a collection of true hadeeths which describe the miracles connected with the Prophet.  Then I read that the Prophet had always said that there had been prophets and messengers before him.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

We can find their names both in the Torah and in the Bible.  When I was only starting to get interested, it sounded somewhat strange for me.  And then...<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Well, my own actions led to what happened to me.  Sometimes I get to thinking: why did I read all this?  Perhaps, I should say the tauba<\/em> (a prayer of repenting) right now for having thoughts like that.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

El rabino de la sinagoga de Makhachkala abrazó el Islam. Cada persona tiene una manera diferente de llegar a la verdad. Para Moisha Krivitsky fue a través de la facultad de leyes, una sinagoga y la prisión. Musa<\/em>: Fue muy difícil. Fue difícil en ese momento, y no es más fácil ahora. Cuando profundizas en el significado interior del Islam, comprendes que esta religión es muy simple, pero el camino que te lleva a ella es extremadamente difícil. A menudo, la gente no comprende como una persona puede convertirse al Islam desde el otro lado.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Pero no hay otros lados aquí. El Islam es todo lo que hay, lo que imaginamos y lo que no imaginamos.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Periodista<\/em>: Musa, de hecho, conocemos este hecho como una sensación: un Rabino se convirtió en musulmán.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Oh, de lejos. Pero ya me he convertido en un verdadero Daguestaní, tengo muchos amigos aquí, musulmanes y no musulmanes.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Periodista<\/em>: Volvamos a su trabajo en la sinagoga.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Fue una situación algo paradójica: había una mezquita cerca de mi sinagoga, la mezquita del pueblo. Algunas veces venían feligreses a hablar conmigo. A veces iba yo mismo a la mezquita, a ver como se desarrollaban los servicios. Estaba muy interesado. Por lo tanto, vivíamos como buenos vecinos. Y una vez, durante Ramadán, una mujer vino a mi, como comprendo ahora, pertenecía a personas históricamente reconocidas como musulmanes, y me pidió que hiciera un comentario sobre la traducción rusa del Corán realizada por Krachkovsky.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Era muy difícil, pero de a poco comencé a comprender, y obtuve una noción básica del Islam. (Aquí, Musa miró al amigo de mi hijo, Ahmed de seis años, que se había quedado dormido en el patio de la mezquita. “¿No deberíamos llevarlo adentro de la mezquita?” me preguntó Musa.) Y esa mujer devolvió la Tora.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Fue muy difícil para ella leerlo y comprenderlo, porque la literatura religiosa requiere extrema concentración y atención.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Periodista<\/em>: Musa, y cuando leías la traducción, seguro comenzaste a compararlo con la Tora ¿verdad?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Encontré respuestas a muchas preguntas en el Corán. No a todas, por supuesto, porque no era el original árabe, sino la traducción.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Pero comencé a comprender las cosas<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Periodista<\/em>: ¿Eso significa que no encontrabas respuestas en el judaísmo?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: No lo se, la voluntad de Allah está en todos lados.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Aparentemente, aquellos judíos que se convirtieron en musulmanes en los tiempos del Profeta, no pudieron encontrar respuestas en el judaísmo, pero si en el Islam.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Tal vez, se sentían atraídos por la personalidad del Profeta, su comportamiento, su manera de comunicarse con la gente. Es un tema muy importante.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Periodista<\/em>: ¿Y cuales eran exactamente las preguntas a las que no encontraba respuesta en el judaísmo?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Antes de ponerme en contacto con el Islam, había preguntas que nunca había intentado encontrar sus respuestas. Probablemente, jugó un papel importante el libro escrito por Ahmad Deedat, un erudito sudafricano, comparando el Corán con la Biblia.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Hay una frase clave, conocida para aquellos que conocen los asuntos de la religión: Sigue al profeta que vendrá<\/em>. Y cuando estudié el Islam, comprendí que el Profeta Muhammad es el profeta a seguir. La Biblia y la Tora nos dicen que lo hagamos.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

No he inventado nada aquí.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Periodista<\/em>: ¿y que dice la Tora acerca del Profeta?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: No podemos encontrar este nombre en la Tora. Pero podemos descifrarlo utilizando una clave. Por ejemplo, podemos comprender a que dios adoró esa persona en particular. La formula que describe al último profeta (que la paz y las bendiciones de Dios lo acompañen) es que adoraba Un Dios, el Único creador del universo. El profeta Muhammad encaja con esta descripción exactamente.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Cuando leí esto, me resultó muy interesante. No sabía nada acerca del Islam antes de eso. Entonces decidí mirar más profundamente en el asunto y ver si había algún milagro o signo conectado con el nombre del Profeta.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

La Biblia nos dice que el Señor envía milagros a los profetas para confirmar su misión especial a los ojos de las personas.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Le pregunte a eruditos acerca de esto, y dijeron: esta es una colección de verdaderas tradiciones del Profeta que describen sus milagros. Entonces leí que el Profeta siempre dijo que existieron profetas y mensajeros antes que él.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Podemos encontrar sus nombres en la Tora y en la Biblia. Cuando comencé a interesarme, algo me pareció extraño. Y luego...<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Bien, mis propias acciones me llevaron a lo que me sucedió. Algunas veces pienso: ¿Por qué leí esto? Tal vez, debería decir la tawbah<\/em> (una plegaria de arrepentimiento) ahora mismo por tener pensamientos como este.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Le rabbin de la synagogue de Makhachkala s’est converti à l’islam.  Chacun emprunte son propre chemin pour trouver la vérité.  Pour Moisha Krivitsky, ce chemin passe d’abord par une faculté de droit, puis une synagogue et une prison;  le futur avocat devient rabbin, se convertit à l’islam et se retrouve en prison.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Aujourd’hui, Moussa[1]<\/a> (c’est le nom qu’il a adopté en devenant musulman) vit dans une petite mosquée à Al-Burikent, une région montagneuse de Makhachkala, et travaille comme gardien de sécurité à la grande mosquée de Juma.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Moussa, avant de commencer notre entrevue vous m’avez demandé de quoi nous allions parler et je vous ai répondu que nous allons parler de vous.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : Qu’y a-t-il de si intéressant à mon sujet?  Vous vous demandez où je vis? Eh bien je vis dans la mosquée.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Comment en êtes-vous venu à habiter dans la mosquée?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : Eh bien, je suis arrivé un jour et … j’y suis resté.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Avez-vous trouvé facilement votre voie vers l’islam?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : Non, difficilement.  C’était difficile à l’époque, et ça ne l’est pas moins maintenant.  Lorsqu’on entre profondément dans l’islam et qu’on commence à en saisir l’essence spirituelle, on comprend que cette religion est très simple, mais que le chemin qui y mène peut être extrêmement tortueux.  Souvent, les gens ne comprennent pas comment quelqu’un venant de « l’autre côté »,  peut se convertir à l’islam.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Mais il n’y pas « d’autre côté » en fait.  Il y a seulement l’islam, qui est à la fois tout ce qu’on imagine et tout ce qu’on ne peut imaginer.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Moussa, pour tout vous dire, on nous a fait une révélation sensationnelle : un rabbin est devenu musulman.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : Eh bien ce n’est plus une sensation depuis un bon bout de temps déjà, car cela fait plus d’un an que j’ai embrassé l’islam.  C’était aussi un peu étrange pour moi au début.  Mais ce ne fut pas une décision prise à l’improviste.  Avant de me convertir, j’ai lu des livres sur l’islam et je l’ai étudié.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Aviez-vous complété vos études secondaires avant d’aller à la synagogue?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : Oui, j’avais complété mon secondaire.  Après avoir reçu mon diplôme, je suis venu à Makhachkala, et je suis devenu le rabbin local.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Et d’où veniez-vous?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : Oh, de très loin.  Mais je suis déjà devenu un vrai daghestani; j’ai beaucoup d’amis ici, parmi les musulmans et aussi parmi les gens qui sont loin de l’islam.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Parlez-nous de votre travail à la synagogue.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : C’était une situation assez paradoxale : il y avait une mosquée proche de ma synagogue, la principale mosquée de la ville.  Parfois, certains de mes amis qui la fréquentaient passaient me voir, juste pour bavarder.  Quelquefois je passais moi-même à la mosquée pour voir comment les services religieux y étaient administrés.  J’étais très intéressé.  Donc nous vivions en bon voisinage.  Et une fois, durant Ramadan, une femme vint me voir – je sais maintenant qu’elle appartenait à un peuple qui est historiquement musulman – et elle me demanda de commenter la traduction du Coran en russe faite par Krashkovsky.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Elle vous a apporté un Coran à vous?  Un rabbin?!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : Oui.  Et elle m’a demandé de lui donner la Torah en échange pour qu’elle puisse la lire.  J’ai donc tenté de lire le Coran, puis je l’ai lu à peu près dix fois.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

C’était vraiment difficile, mais petit à petit, j’ai commencé à comprendre et à avoir une notion de base sur l’islam.  (À ce moment, Moussa remarqua que le fils de mon ami, le petit Ahmed âgé de six ans, s’était endormi dans la cour de la mosquée. « Ne devrait-on pas le faire entrer à l’intérieur de la mosquée? » demanda Moussa.)  Puis, la femme me rapporta la Torah.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Elle avait eu beaucoup de difficulté à la lire et à en comprendre le sens, car la littérature religieuse demande une extrême concentration et beaucoup d’attention.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Moussa, quand vous lisiez la traduction du Coran, vous avez dû commencer à la comparer à la Torah?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : J’ai trouvé des réponses à beaucoup de questions dans le Coran.  Pas à toutes mes questions, bien sûr, car ce n’était qu’une traduction et non pas l’original en langue arabe.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Mais j’avais commencé à comprendre bien des choses.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Cela veut-il dire que vous ne trouviez pas de réponses à certaines de vos questions dans le judaïsme?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa <\/em>: Je ne sais pas; c’est la volonté d’Allah qui se manifeste partout.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Apparemment, les juifs qui sont devenus musulmans à l’époque du Prophète ne trouvaient pas de réponses à certaines questions dans le judaïsme, mais les ont trouvées dans l’islam.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Peut-être ont-ils été attirés par la personnalité du Prophète, son comportement, sa manière de communiquer avec les gens.  C’est un sujet important.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Et quelles sont exactement les questions auxquelles vous ne trouviez pas de réponse dans le judaïsme?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : Avant d’entrer en contact avec l’islam, il y avait des questions auxquelles je n’avais même jamais essayé de trouver réponse.  Je crois qu’un livre écrit par Ahmad Deedat, un Sud-Africain, dans lequel il comparait le Coran et la Bible, a joué un grand rôle ici.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Il y a une phrase-clé qui est bien connue des gens versés dans le domaine religieux et qui dit : suis le prophète qui viendra.  Quand j’ai étudié l’islam, j’ai compris que le prophète Mohammad était celui-là même qu’il fallait suivre.  La Bible et la Torah nous ordonnent toutes deux de le suivre.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Je n’invente rien ici.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Intervieweur <\/em>: Et que dit la Torah à propos du Prophète?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Moussa<\/em> : La Torah ne mentionne pas spécifiquement son nom.  Mais on peut le découvrir par déduction.  Par exemple, on peut comprendre à quel dieu telle ou telle personne particulière dans l’histoire vouait une adoration.  Le passage qui décrit le dernier prophète (que la paix et les bénédictions d’Allah soient sur lui) affirme qu’il n’adorera qu’un seul Dieu, l’unique créateur du monde.  Le Prophète Mohammed est l’incarnation exacte de cette description.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Quand j’ai lu cela, mon intérêt s’est éveillé.  Je ne connaissais rien de l’islam avant cela.  Ensuite, j’ai décidé de me pencher sérieusement sur cette question et de voir s’il y avait des miracles ou des signes particuliers reliés au nom du Prophète.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

La Bible nous enseigne que le Seigneur envoie des miracles aux prophètes afin de confirmer leur mission spéciale aux yeux des gens.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

J’ai posé la question aux alims (savants) à ce propos, et ils m’ont dit : «Voici une collection de hadiths authentiques qui décrivent les miracles réalisés par le Prophète. »  Puis, j’ai lu que le Prophète a toujours dit qu’il y avait eu, avant lui, d’autres prophètes et d’autres messagers.  On retrouve leurs noms à la fois dans la Torah et dans la Bible.  Lorsque je commençais à peine à m’intéresser à l’islam, cela me semblait étrange. Mais ensuite…<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Je crois que mes propres actions m’ont mené à ce qui m’est arrivé.  Parfois je me mets à penser : pourquoi ai-je lu tout cela?  Je devrais probablement faire la tauba<\/em> (une invocation de repentir) tout de suite pour avoir eu des idées pareilles.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Der Rabbi der Makhachkala Synagoge nahm den Islam an.  Jeder Mensch hat einen anderen Weg, die Wahrheit zu finden.  Für Moisha Krivitski führte dieser Weg über die Fakultät für Jura, eine Synagoge und ein Gefängnis.  Der angehende Jurist wird erst Rabbi, dann konvertiert er zum Islam und findet sich im Gefängnis wieder. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Heute lebt Musa[1]<\/a>  (dies ist der Name, den er annahm, als er Muslim wurde) in einer kleinen Moschee in Al-Burikent, einer Berggegend bei Makhachkala und arbeitet als Wächter in der Central Juma Moschee. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Musa, bevor wir anfingen, zu reden, fragtest du mich, worüber wir sprechen.  Ich sagte: Über dich. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Was ist an mir so interessant?  Wenn du dich wunderst, dass ich in der Moschee lebe... <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Wie kam es dazu, dass du in der Moschee lebst? <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Nun, ich schneite herein... und blieb. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Fandest du den Weg leicht? <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Mit großen Schwierigkeiten.  Es war schwer, und es ist jetzt noch nicht viel leichter.  Wenn du tief in den Islam eindringst, in seine innere Bedeutung, verstehst du, dass diese Religion sehr einfach ist, aber der Weg dorthin kann überaus schwer sein.  Oft verstehen die Leute nicht, wie jemand zum Islam kommen kann, von der anderen Seite als es tasächlich ist. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Aber es gibt hier keine anderen Seiten.  Islam ist alles, das es gibt, das was wir uns vorstellen und das, was wir uns nicht vorstellen. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Musa, uns wurde eine Sensation mitgeteilt: ein Rabbi wurde Muslim. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Nun, es war schon lange Zeit keine Sensation mehr – es ist schon über ein Jahr her, das ich das tat.  Es war mir zuerst auch ein bisschen fremd.  Aber es war keine unüberlegte Tat.  Als ich zum Islam kam, hatte ich zuvor Bücher darüber gelesen, ich war interessiert.    <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Hast du einen Schulabschluß gemacht, bevor du in die Synagoge kamst? <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Ja, ich habe die relligiöse Highschool absolviert.  Nach dem Abschluß kam ich nach Makhachkala und wurde örtlicher Rabbi. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Und woher kamst du? <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Oh, von weit her, aber ich bin schon ein richtiger Daghestani geworden, ich habe eine Menge Freunde hier – sowohl Muslime als auch solche, die vom Islam weit entfernt sind. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Laß uns noch einmal auf deine Arbeit in der Synagoge zurückkommen. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Es war eine ziemlich paradoxe Situation: es gab eine Moschee in der Nähe meiner Synagoge, die Stadtmoschee.  Manchmal kamen meine Freunde zu mir, sie waren Gemeindemitglieder - einfach so zum Reden.  Manchmal ging ich selbst in die Moschee, um zu sehen, was sie dort für Gottesdienste abhielten.  Ich war sehr interessiert.  So lebten wir wie gute Nachbarn.  Und einmal, im Ramadhan, kam eine Frau zu mir – heute verstehe ich, sie gehörte zu einem Volk, das ursprünglich muslimisch war – und sie bat mich, die russische Übersetzung des Qur´an von Krachkovsky zu kommentieren.    <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Sie brachte dir den Qur´an – einem Rabbi?!  <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Ja, sie bat mich, ihr die Thora im Tausch zu geben.  Da versuchte ich, den Qur´an zu lesen – ungefähr zehnmal.  <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Es war wirklich schwer, aber nach und nach begann ich, zu verstehen und eine Grundvorstellung vom Islam zu erhalten.  (Hier schaute Musa auf den Sohn meines Freundes, den sechsjährigen Ahmed, der im Hof der Moschee eingeschlafen war.  \"Sollten wir ihn vielleicht in die Moschee hineinbringen?\" fragte Musa.) Und diese Frau brachte die Thora zurück. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Es stellte sich heraus, dass es sehr schwer für sie gewesen war, sie zu lesen und zu verstehen, denn religiöse Literatur bedarf der besonderen Konzentration und Aufmerksamkeit. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Musa, und als du die Übersetzung gelesen hast, mußt du doch angefangen haben, sie mit der Thora zu vergleichen? <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Ich hatte im Qur´an die Antworten auf viele Fragen gefunden.  Natürlich nicht auf alle, denn es war nicht das arabische Original sondern eine Übersetzung.  Aber ich hatte begonnen, Dinge zu verstehen. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Meinst du, dass du manche Antworten im Judentum nicht hattest finden können? <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Ich weiß nicht, Allahs Wille ist in allem. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Offensichtlich konnten die Juden, die zur Zeit des Propheten Muslime geworden waren, manche Antworten auch nicht im Judentum finden, wohl aber im Islam. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Möglicherweise waren sie auch von der Persönlichkeit des Propheten angezogen; von seinem Verhalten, seiner Art mit Menschen zu kommunizieren.  Das ist ein wichtiges Thema.      <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Und welches waren die Fragen, auf die du im Judentum keine Antworten finden konntest? <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Bevor ich mit dem Islam in Tuchfühlung kam, gab es Fragen, auf die ich noch nie versucht hatte, Antworten zu finden.  Vielleicht hatte hier eine wichtige Rolle ein Buch von Ahmad Diedat, einem Südafrikanischen Gelehrten, gespielt, in dem der Qur´an und die Bibel verglichen wurden. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Da gibt es einen Schlüsselsatz, der denen, die mit religiösen Angelegenheiten betraut sind, gut bekannt ist, es ist: Folgt dem Propheten, der kommen wird.  Und als ich den Islam studierte, verstand ich, dass der Prophet Muhammad genau dieser Prophet ist, dem Folge zu leisten ist.  Sowohl die Bibel als auch die Thora sagen, dass wir es tun sollen. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Ich habe nichts Neues eingeführt. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Interviewer<\/em>: Und was sagt die Thora über den Propheten? <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: Wir werden seinen Namen in der Thora nicht finden.  Aber wir können es mit einem besonderen Schlüssel herausbekommen.  Beispielsweise können wir verstehen, welchen Gott diese oder jene Person in der Geschichte angebetet hat.  Die Formel, die den letzten Propheten [Gottes Segen und Frieden seien auf ihm]beschreibt, ist, dass er Einen Gott anbetet, den Einzigen Schöpfer der Welten.  Auf den Propheten Muhammad passt diese Beschreibung ganz genau. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Als ich dies las, wurde mein Interesse geweckt.  Ich hatte zuvor nichts über den Islam gewußt.  Dann entschloß ich mich, mich eingehender mit der Materie zu befassen und zu sehen, ob es irgenwelche Wunder und Zeichen gab, die in Verbindung mit dem Namen des Propheten stehen. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Die Bibel sagt uns, dass der Herr die Propheten mit Wundern unterstützt, die ihre besondere Mission den Menschen beweisen.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Ich befragte die Alims<\/em> (Gelehrten) darüber und sie sagten: Hier ist eine Sammlung wahrer Hadithe (Überlieferungen) , welche die Wunder in Verbindung mit dem Propheten beschreiben.  Dann las ich, dass der Prophet immer gesagt hatte, dass es bereits vor ihm schon Propheten und Gesandte gegeben hatte. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Wie können ihre Namen sowohl in der Thora als auch in der Bibel finden.  Als ich begann, mich zu interessieren, klang es ein wenig seltsam für mich.  Und dann… <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Nun, meine eigenen Taten führten zu dem, was mit mir passierte.  Manchmal fange ich an, zu denken: warum las ich all dies?  Vielleicht sollte ich jetzt die Tauba<\/em> (Gebet der Reue) für Gedanken wie diese machen. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

O rabino da sinagoga de Makhachkala abraçou o Islã.  Toda pessoa tem uma forma diferente de chegar à Verdade.  Para Moisha Krivitsky esse caminho passou por uma faculdade de Direito, uma sinagoga e uma prisão.  O futuro advogado se tornou um rabino, então se converte ao Islã e se descobre na prisão.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Hoje Musa[1]<\/a> (esse é o nome que ele adotou quando se tornou muçulmano) vive em uma pequena mesquita em Al-Burikent, uma área montanhosa de Makhachkala, e trabalha como vigia na mesquita central Juma.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> Musa, antes de começarmos a falar, você perguntou sobre o que conversaríamos.  Eu disse: Sobre você.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa<\/em>: O que há de tão interessante sobre mim?  Se você se admirou.  Eu moro na mesquita...<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> Como você passou a viver na mesquita?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Bem, eu simplesmente apareci... e fiquei.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> Achou o caminho facilmente?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Com grande dificuldade.  Foi difícil na época, e não é muito mais fácil agora.  Quando você se aprofunda no significado interior do Islã compreende que essa religião é muito simples, mas o caminho que leva a ela pode ser extremamente difícil.  Frequentemente as pessoas não entendem como uma pessoa pode se converter ao Islã do outro lado.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Mas não existem lados aqui.  O Islã é tudo que existe, tanto o que imaginamos e o que não imaginamos.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> Musa, recebemos esse fato com certa sensação: um rabino que se tornou muçulmano.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Bem, não tem havido sensação por um bom tempo – já tem mais de um ano que fiz isso.  Era estranho para mim no início, também.  Mas não foi uma decisão impensada.  Quando cheguei ao Islã, havia lido livros sobre ele e tinha estado interessado.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> Você concluiu o segundo grau antes de entrar para a sinagoga?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Sim, concluí uma escola religiosa de segundo grau.  Depois da graduação vim para Makhachkala e me tornei o rabino local.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> E de onde você é?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Ó, de muito longe.  Mas já me tornei um verdadeiro daguestão. Tenho muitos amigos aqui – tanto entre os muçulmanos quanto entre pessoas que estão longe do Islã.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> Vamos voltar ao seu trabalho na sinagoga.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Eu estava em uma situação muito paradoxal: havia uma mesquita perto da sinagoga, a mesquita da cidade.  Às vezes meus amigos que eram seus frequentadores vinham para mim - apenas para conversar.  Às vezes eu vinha para mesquita, para ver como os serviços religiosos eram conduzidos.  Estava muito interessado.  Então vivíamos como bons vizinhos.  E uma vez, durante o Ramadã, uma mulher veio até mim – como agora compreendo, ela pertencia ao povo que era historicamente muçulmano – e pediu que eu comentasse a tradução russa do Alcorão feita por Krachkovsky.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> Ela trouxe o Alcorão para você – um rabino?!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Sim, e me pediu para dar a ela a Torá para ler.  Então tentei ler o Alcorão – umas dez vezes.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Era muito difícil, mas gradualmente comecei a entender, e a ter uma noção básica do Islã.  (Aqui, Musa olha para o filho do meu amigo, Ahmed de seis anos, que pegou no sono no pátio da mesquita. “Devemos levá-lo para dentro da mesquita?” perguntou Musa.) E aquela mulher trouxe de volta a Torá.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Foi muito difícil para ela lê-la e compreendê-la, porque literatura religiosa requer concentração e atenção extremas.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> Musa, e quando você lia a tradução, você deve ter começado a compará-la com a Torá.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Encontrei respostas para muitas perguntas no Alcorão.  Não para todas elas, claro, porque não era o original em árabe, mas a tradução.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Mas comecei a entender coisas.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> Isso significa que você não pode encontrar algumas respostas no Judaísmo?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Não sei, existe a vontade de Allah em tudo.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Aparentemente, aqueles judeus que se tornaram muçulmanos no tempo do Profeta não puderam encontrar algumas respostas no Judaísmo, mas as encontraram no Islã.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Talvez tenham sido atraídos pela personalidade do Profeta, seu comportamento, sua forma de se comunicar com as pessoas.  É um tópico importante.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> E quais exatamente eram as perguntas para as quais você não pôde encontrar as respostas no Judaísmo?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Antes de eu entrar em contato com o Islã, havia perguntas para as quais nunca tinha tentado encontrar respostas.  Provavelmente uma parte importante aqui tenha sido desempenhada por um livro escrito por Ahmad Deedat, um estudioso sul-africano, comparando o Alcorão e a Bíblia.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Existe uma chave frase, bem conhecida daqueles que estão familiarizados com questões religiosas: Siga o Profeta que está por vir.  E quando estudei o Islã, compreendi que o Profeta Muhammad é o Profeta a ser seguido.  Tanto a Bíblia quanto a Torá nos dizem para fazer isso.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Não inventei nada.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Entrevistador:<\/em> E o que a Torá diz sobre o Profeta?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Musa:<\/em> Não seremos capazes de encontrar seu nome na Torá.  Mas podemos descobri-lo usando uma chave especial.  Por exemplo, podemos entender que deus essa ou aquela pessoa em particular na história adora.  A fórmula que descreve o último Profeta [que a misericórdia e bênçãos de Deus estejam sobre ele] é que ele adoraria o Deus Único, o Criador do mundo.  O Profeta Muhammad bate com essa descrição de forma exata.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Quando li isso, fiquei muito interessado.  Não sabia nada sobre o Islã antes disso.  Então decidi me aprofundar no assunto e ver se existiam quaisquer milagres e sinais conectados ao nome do Profeta.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

A Bíblia nos diz que o Senhor envia milagres para os profetas para confirmar sua missão especial aos olhos das pessoas.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Perguntei aos alims<\/em> (estudiosos) sobre isso e eles disseram: Aqui está uma coletânea de hadiths verdadeiros que descrevem os milagres ligados ao Profeta.  Então li que o Profeta sempre disse que tinha havido profetas e mensageiros antes dele.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Podemos encontrar seus nomes na Torá e na Bíblia.  Quando estava apenas começando a me interessar, isso soou estranho para mim.  E então...<\/span><\/p>\r\n
