Introduction<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

Revealing to you my story is not that easy for me to do.  Because, it hurts me so much to recall my past life.  But having Allah in my life, gave me courage to do it.  To begin …………………<\/span><\/p>\r\n

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

All Praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all Words, the Most Merciful, the Beneficent, and the Master of the Day of Judgment.  Peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, the masters of all prophets and messengers, and on his family, companions all and whoever follows his path till the Day of Resurrection.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Where I am from?<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

In a small town in Philippines, Rizal, Cagayan.  I was raised by a parents of different religion.  My father was a “Roman Catholic”, while my mother was a “Protestant”.  As for me, I prefer my father’s religion.  But I’d never been that religious, because there’s a lot of question in my mind such as:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    \r\n
  • Why do I have to confess to a priest and let him be the one to ask     for God’s forgiveness of whatever I’d done wrong?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
  • Why do I need to pray to saints and not direct to God?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
  • Where is God? Does he exists like human?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
  • Was Jesus really the son of God?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
  • Why is there a lot of bible version?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
  • What is possibly waiting for me after death?<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

    For such a longtime, I felt like that I was just wasting my time.  I wanted to know the truth and what is the right way of life ( a life with God loving presence).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    When I was twelve years old, my father was arrested and accused of killing his uncle (my grandfather’s brother) because of their ancestral ownership.  As far as I know my father, I know he didn’t do it.  They simply don’t want my father to inherit anything from their wealth.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Because we can’t afford to pay for an attorney, my father was convicted seven years imprisonment.  And because he behaved well in jail, they released him after five years of imprisonment.  During his years in jail, raising us became a burden to my mother.  Luckily, we had good people around us (my mater uncle and my aunt) who very supportive to us.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    By the way, we were five siblings (4 girls and a boy) and I am the third among them.  But due to money shortage I only finished high school (grade ten).  After I graduated, my uncle (father’s brother) brought me to Manila to find a job.  By God’s favor, I quickly find a job in a bookshop.  Part of my earnings, I sent it to my mother.  A year and half later, one of my friends encouraged me to work abroad.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    A week after, she introduce me to the agency.  They told me to submit my credentials.  So, I gathered all the documents they required me of.  After a month, they informed me that I needed to take a medical examination.  By God’s love and mercy, I passed the examination.  And in two weeks time I departed to Kuwait.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    I heartedly thank God for having an employer who was kind and considerate.  Three years later, I ask for an increase salary.  But my madam said that she coudn’t afford it.  So, I asked them to give me release so that I cant find work outside.  Luckily, they not deprive me of their favor.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    I then found a work at a billiard hall somewhere in Khaitan.  And there I met an Indonesian believer of Allah (swt).  She had a very strong faith (IMAN).  Her way of belief made me like reading books about Islam.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    How am I (in times of my Ignorance of Islam)?<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

    I never thought that Islam was a religion worth studying.  Most of my friends were Christians.  We use to go together and pray in the church.  In vain and in my heart, I felt nothing but the absence of God.  I realize that I’m totally “lost” which made me more desperate finding my way to the right path.  So, I bought myself a “Tagalog” translation of the Qur’an, but I couldn’t go on reading more than two pages of it.  So I decided to keep it aside and buy more books and pamphlets about Islam.  But I came to a point that I gave up understanding it alone, so; I decided to go to IPC (Islam Presentation Committee) in Rawda - Kuwait.  They all (the sisters) welcomed me warmly.  It was my first encounter with a group of believing women in Islam.  By my surprise, I feel like a total stranger to them.  It was then I started to attend Islamic classes.  Every minute of the lecture and every pages of the book seemed like a revelation to me.  It gave me a great spiritual satisfaction which I never felt before, but still I hadn’t decided embracing Islam.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    When did I embraced Islam?<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

    On June 6, 2004, I decided to embraced Islam.  I did perform my testimony of faith (Shahadah) in court.  It was a real great experience for me.  Every single Muslim at the court, embraced me with both hands tightly.  I knew then that I was guided to the right path.  And I had made best decision in life.  After two years of embracing Islam, I went back to Philippines, to attend my sisters wedding.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    How was I (when I became a Muslim)?<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

    Being far from any other Muslims, living in that place (where I’ve grown up) was a big trial for me.  I had to control my desire of wearing my clothes before such as mini-skirts and half sleeves blouses.  As Allah (swt) forbid us (Muslims) to disclose the beauty of our body except for our husband (at home particularly) without the presence of anyone whom can be a “Mahram” to you (us women).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    In three months time, in that isolated place (far from any other Muslims) was that really hard to stand firm on our religion.  So, I hurried back to Kuwait ; to study more about Islam. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

    What did I benefited in Islam?<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

    Islam made me understand the importance of wearing hijab and dressing Islamicly.  Though at first, I feel uncomfortable doing it.  As days passed by, I got use to it.  I even wear Abaya (jilbab) by now.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Islam decreased my desire of putting make-up every time I go out, neither with my family nor with my friends.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Islam thought me how to safeguard myself and how to prevent evil actions (fitnah).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Islam thought me the real meaning of sisterhood and brotherhood.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Islam made me more careful of my actions and thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Final Thoughts<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

    A believing woman wearing hijjab and Islamic clothes is a beautiful as an Angel.  What you keep something secret for the sake of Allah (swt), increases its value.  In other words… Keeping womans body secret, increases its charm in the eyes of a believing man.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Introduction<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

    Vous révéler mon histoire n’est pas facile, pour moi, car c’est avec douleur que je me rappelle ma vie passée.  Mais le fait d’avoir Allah dans ma vie me donne le courage de le faire.  <\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Je commence, donc, au nom d’Allah, le Tout Clément, le Très Miséricordieux.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Toutes les louanges sont à Allah, le Seigneur des mondes, le Très Miséricordieux, le Clément et le Maître du Jour du Jugement.  Que la paix et les bénédictions soient sur Mohammed, le Sceau des prophètes et messagers, de même que sur sa famille, ses compagnons et sur tous ceux qui le suivent et le suivront jusqu’au Jour de la Résurrection.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Mes origines<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

    J’ai grandi aux Philippines (Rizal, Cagayan).  J’ai été élevée par des parents de différentes religions; mon père était catholique, tandis que ma mère était protestante.  En grandissant, je préférais la religion de mon père, même si je n’étais pas une personne très religieuse.  En effet, la religion suscitait, chez moi, de nombreuses interrogations, dont :<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      \r\n
    • Pourquoi devais-je me confesser à un prêtre et le laisser, lui, demander pardon à Dieu pour mes péchés?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
    • Pourquoi devais-je adresser mes prières à des saints et non directement à Dieu?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
    • Où Dieu se trouve-t-Il?  Existe-t-Il à la manière d’un être humain?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
    • Jésus était-il vraiment le fils de Dieu?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
    • Pourquoi toutes ces versions de la Bible?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
    • Qu’est-ce qui m’attend après ma mort?<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

      Durant une longue période de ma vie, j’ai eu l’impression de perdre mon temps.  Tout ce que je voulais, c’était connaître la vérité et suivre le mode de vie que Dieu attendait de moi.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Lorsque j’avais douze ans, mon père fut arrêté et accusé d’avoir tué son oncle paternel au cours d’une dispute au sujet d’une propriété ancestrale.  J’avais, de mon côté, l’intime conviction que mon père était innocent.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Parce que nous étions trop pauvres pour payer un avocat, mon père fut condamné à sept ans de prison.  Il fut finalement libéré après cinq ans pour bonne conduite.  Durant son emprisonnement, nous élever, moi, mes sœurs et mon frère, devint un véritable fardeau pour ma mère.  Heureusement, nous étions entourés de bonnes personnes, dont mon oncle et ma tante maternels, qui nous apportèrent beaucoup de soutien.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Nous étions six enfants, cinq filles et un garçon; j’étais la troisième.  Comme nous n’avions pas suffisamment d’argent, je dus cesser mes études à la fin du secondaire.  Après que j’eus obtenu mon diplôme, mon oncle paternel me conduisit à Manille pour que j’y fasse une recherche d’emploi.  Par la grâce de Dieu, je trouvai rapidement un emploi dans une librairie.  J’envoyai alors une partie de mon salaire à ma mère.  Un an et demi plus tard, une de mes amies me suggéra d’aller travailler à l’étranger.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Elle me mit en contact avec une agence, qui me demanda de lui envoyer une liste de mes compétences.  Un mois plus tard, l’agence exigea que je passe un examen médical.  Deux semaines plus tard, je prenais l’avion pour le Koweït.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Je remercie Dieu de tout mon cœur d’être tombée sur un employeur bon et prévenant.  Trois ans après mon arrivée, je demandai une augmentation de salaire.  Mais la dame de la maison me répondit qu’elle n’en avait pas les moyens.  Je leur demandai donc de me laisser partir pour que je puisse trouver un autre emploi à l’extérieur.  Ils ne tentèrent pas de me retenir.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Je trouvai un emploi dans une salle de billard à Khaitan.  Et j’y fis la rencontre d’une Indonésienne musulmane pratiquante.  Elle semblait si heureuse et épanouie que je décidai de lire des livres sur l’islam afin de mieux comprendre son mode de vie.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      J’ignorais tout de l’islam<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

      J’avais toujours trouvé que l’islam ne valait pas la peine d’être étudié.  La plupart de mes amies étaient chrétiennes.  J’allais avec elles prier à l’église; mais au fond, je ne ressentais rien d’autre que l’absence de Dieu.  À présent, je réalisais à quel point j’étais perdue et je cherchais désespérément à trouver le chemin menant vers la vérité.  J’achetai une traduction du Coran en tagalog, mais je trouvai ce livre difficile à lire et le posai après avoir lu deux pages.  Cela ne me découragea pas pour autant et j’allai me procurer d’autres livres et brochures sur l’islam.  Après un temps, je réalisai que j’aurais besoin d’aide dans cette quête et je me rendis au local d’une association musulmane à Rawda (Koweït).  Toutes les sœurs présentes m’accueillirent chaleureusement.  C’était la première fois que je rencontrais tout un groupe de musulmanes.  Puis, je commençai à assister aux cours d’islam qu’ils donnaient sur place.  Tout ce que j’entendais et lisais était une véritable révélation, pour moi.  Je ressentais une satisfaction spirituelle jamais ressentie auparavant, mais j’hésitais encore à me convertir officiellement.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Le moment où j’embrassai l’islam<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

      Je décidai d’embrasser l’islam le 6 juin 2004.  Je prononçai la shahada (profession de foi) devant la cour (comme il est d’usage, là-bas).  Ce fut une expérience mémorable.  Chaque musulmane présente vint me faire une accolade.  Je savais que j’avais enfin trouvé la véritable voie de Dieu et que je venais de prendre la meilleure décision de ma vie.  Deux ans plus tard, je retournai aux Philippines pour le mariage de ma sœur.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      De retour au bercail<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

      Être loin d’une communauté musulmane, en ces lieux où j’avais grandi, fut une grande épreuve pour moi.  Je dus me retenir de porter à nouveau le genre de vêtements que je portais avant ma conversion (l’islam nous interdit de révéler nos atours aux hommes qui ne sont pas de famille proche).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Durant ces trois mois où je restai parmi les miens, pratiquer ma religion fut une épreuve de chaque instant.  Je retournai enfin au Koweït afin d’étudier davantage l’islam.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Ce que l’islam m’a apporté<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

      Avec l’islam, j’ai appris la pudeur, la modestie dans ma tenue vestimentaire.  Au début, je trouvais le hijab inconfortable, mais à la longue, je finis par m’habituer.  Et maintenant, je porte même l’abaya (jilbab).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Avec l’islam, je n’ai plus autant envie de me maquiller chaque jour pour sortir.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      J’ai également appris à me protéger et à me tenir loin des mauvaises actions et des tentations.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      L’islam m’a appris le véritable sens de la fraternité et de la communauté.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Enfin, je suis beaucoup plus à l’écoute de mes pensées et je fais plus attention à mes gestes en général.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Une dernière pensée<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

      Il y a une grande beauté dans une musulmane vêtue modestement.  Le fait de se soustraire aux regards par amour pour Dieu fait d’elle une personne précieuse.  Autrement dit, sa tenue modeste ne fait qu’accroître son charme aux yeux de l’homme croyant.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Einleitung<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

      Euch meine Geschichte zu enthüllen, ist nicht einfach für mich.  Denn es verletzt mich so sehr, mir mein vergangenes Leben in Erinnerung zu rufen.  Aber Allah in meinem Leben zu haben, gab mir den Mut, es zu tun.  Am Anfang…………………<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Im Namen Allahs, des Allerbarmers, des Barmherzigen! <\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Alles Lob und Preis gebührt Allah, dem Herrn der Welten, dem Barmherzigsten, dem Gnädigsten, dem Herrn am Tag des Gerichts.  Segen und Frieden auf unseren Propheten Muhammad, dem Herrn aller Propheten und Gesandten und auf seine Familie, Gefährten und allen, die seinem Weg folgen bis zum Tag der Wiedererweckung.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

      Woher komme ich?   <\/span><\/h2>\r\n

      Aus einer kleinen Stadt in den Philippinen, Rizal, Cagayan.  Ich wuchs bei Eltern mit unterschiedlichen Religionen auf.  Mein Vater war „römisch-katholisch“, während meine Mutter eine „Protestantin“ gewesen ist.  Was mich betrifft, bevorzuge ich die Religion meines Vaters.  Aber ich bin nie so religiös gewesen, aufgrund der vielen Fragen, die ich in meinem Kopf hatte, wie:   <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        \r\n
      • Warum muss ich vor einem Priester beichten, und er ist dann derjenige der Gott um Vergebung bittet für das, was ich an Falschem getan habe? <\/span><\/li>\r\n
      • Warum muss ich Heilige anbeten und kann nicht direkt zu Gott beten?<\/span><\/li>\r\n
      • Wo ist Gott?  Existiert er wie die Menschen? <\/span><\/li>\r\n
      • War Jesus wirklich der Sohn Gottes?  <\/span><\/li>\r\n
      • Warum gibt es so viele Bibelversionen?  <\/span><\/li>\r\n
      • Was wird mich nach dem Tod erwarten?<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

        Lange Zeit fühlte ich mich, als würde ich meine Zeit vergeuden.  Ich wollte die Wahrheit wissen und welche die richtige Lebensweise ist (für ein Leben mit der liebenden Anwesenheit Gottes).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Als ich zwölf Jahre alt war, wurde mein Vater festgenommen und beschuldigt, seinen Onkel (den Bruder meines Großvaters) wegen dem Eigentum ihrer Vorfahren getötet zu haben.  Wie ich meinen Vater kenne, bin ich mir sicher, dass er es nicht getan hatte, sie wollten einfach nicht, dass er von ihrem Reichtum etwas erbt. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Weil wir es uns nicht leisten konnten, einen Rechtsanwalt zu bezahlen, wurde mein Vater zu sieben Jahren Haft verurteilt.  Und weil er sich in der Haft gut verhalten hatte, haben sie ihn nach fünf Jahren Haft entlassen.  Während der Jahre, die er im Gefängnis gewesen ist, war es für meine Mutter eine Last, uns großzuziehen.  Glücklicherweise hatten wir gute Menschen um uns herum (meinen Onkel und meine Tante mütterlicherseits), die uns sehr unterstützt haben. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Übrigens waren wir fünf (vier Mädchen und ein Junge), und ich bin die dritte von ihnen.  Aber wegen Geldmangels habe ich nur die High School abgeschlossen (zehnte Klasse).  Nach der Graduierung brachte mich mein Onkel (der Bruder meines Vaters) nach Manila, um eine Arbeit zu suchen.  Durch die Gnade Gottes fand ich bald einen Job in einem Buchladen.  Einen Teil meines Verdienstes schickte ich meiner Mutter.  Eineinhalb Jahre später ermutigte mich eine meiner Freundinnen, im Ausland zu arbeiten.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Eine Woche danach brachte sie mich zu einer Agentur.  Sie sagten mir, ich solle meine Referenzen einreichen.  Da sammelte ich alle Dokumente die von mir verlangt wurden.  Einen Monat später informierten sie mich darüber, dass ich mich einer medizinischen Untersuchung zu unterziehen habe.  Durch die Liebe und Gnade Gottes bestand ich die Untersuchung und innerhalb zweier Wochen reiste ich nach Kuwait.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Ich danke Gott von Herzen, dass Er mir einen Arbeitgeber gegeben hat, der freundlich und rücksichtsvoll war. Drei Jahre später bat ich um eine Gehaltserhöhung.  Aber meine Madam sagte, das könne sie sich nicht leisten.  Da bat ich sie, mich zu entlassen, damit ich anderswo Arbeit suchen könnte.  Glücklicherweise haben sie mir diesen Gefallen nicht vorenthalten.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Dann fand ich eine Arbeit in einer Billardhalle irgendwo in Khaitan.  Und dort traf ich eine indonesische Gläubige an Allah (swt).  Sie hatte einen sehr starken Glauben (IMAN).  Ihre Art des Glaubens veranlasste mich, Bücher über den Islam zu lesen.  <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Was wird aus mir? (in den Zeiten als ich den Islam noch nicht kannte)?<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

        Ich hatte nie gedacht, dass der Islam eine Religion ist, die es wert ist, studiert zu werden.  Die meisten meiner Freunde waren Christen.  Wir pflegten zusammen in die Kirche zu gehen und zu beten.  In meinem Herzen fühlte ich nichts, als die Abwesenheit Gottes.  Mir wurde klar, dass ich total „verloren“ war, was mich noch verzweifelter nach dem richtigen Weg suchen ließ.  Ich kaufte mir eine “Tagalog” Übersetzung des Qur´an, aber ich konnte nicht mehr als zwei Seiten davon lesen.  Da entschied ich mich, ihn beiseite zu legen und mehr Bücher und Broschüren über den Islam zu kaufen.  Aber ich kam an einen Punkt, an dem ich es aufgab, ihn alleine zu verstehen; und so beschloss ich, zum IPC (Islam Presentation Committee) in Rawda – Kuwait – zu gehen.  Sie (die Schwestern) empfingen mich herzlich.  Es war mein erstes Zusammentreffen mit gläubigen muslimischen Frauen.  Zu meiner Überraschung fühlte ich mich, wie eine völlig Fremde unter ihnen.  Dies war der Zeitpunkt, an dem ich anfing, an islamischen Kursen teilzunehmen.  Jede Minute der Vorträge und jede Seite des Buches wirkten wie eine Offenbarung auf mich.  Es brachte mir eine großartige spirituelle Zufriedenheit, die ich nie zuvor gefühlt hatte, aber ich hatte mich noch immer nicht entschlossen, den Islam anzunehmen. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Wann habe ich den Islam angenommen?  <\/span><\/h2>\r\n

        Am 6.Juni 2004 beschloss ich, den Islam anzunehmen.  Ich legte das Glaubensbekenntnis (Schahada) bei Gericht ab.  Es war wirklich eine großartige Erfahrung für mich.  Jeder einzelne Muslim bei Gericht umarmte mich fest.  Ich wusste, dass ich auf den richtigen Weg geführt worden war.  Und ich hatte die beste Entscheidung meines Lebens getroffen.  Zwei Jahre nachdem ich den Islam angenommen hatte, ging ich zu den Philippinen zurück, um an der Hochzeit meiner Schwester teilzunehmen. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Wie war ich (als ich Muslim geworden bin)?<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

        Weit von anderen Muslimen entfernt an diesem Ort (an dem ich aufgewachsen bin) zu leben, war eine große Prüfung für mich.  Ich musste mein Verlangen danach, meine alten Sachen, wie Miniröcke und kurzärmlige Blusen anzuziehen, unter Kontrolle halten.  Denn Allah verbietet uns (Muslimen), die Schönheit unserer Körper vor anderen als unseren Ehemännern (vor allem zu Hause) zur Schau zu stellen, ohne die Anwesenheit von irgendeinem, der ein „Mahram“ für uns (Frauen) sein könnte. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        In den drei Monaten an diesem isolierten Ort (weit von anderen Muslimen entfernt), war es ziemlich schwer, standhaft in unserer Religion zu bleiben.  Also eilte ich zurück nach Kuwait um mehr über den Islam zu lernen.    <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Was habe für einen Nutzen am Islam?<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

        Der Islam hat mit dabei geholfen, die Wichtigkeit des Hijabs und der islamischen Bekleidung zu verstehen.  Obwohl ich mich zuerst dabei unwohl gefühlt habe; nachdem dann einige Tage vergangen waren, hatte ich mich daran gewöhnt.  Ich trage jetzt sogar Abaya (jilbab). <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Der Islam hat meinen Wunsch, Make-up zu benutzen, wenn ich mit meiner Familie oder mit meinen Freunden hinaus gehe, verringert.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Der Islam hat mich gelehrt, mich zu schützen und schlimme Dinge zu verhindern (fitnah).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Der Islam lehrte mich die wirkliche Bedeutung von Schwesterlichkeit und Brüderlichkeit.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Der Islam machte mich vorsichtiger in meinen Taten und Gedanken. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

        Abschließende Gedanken<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

        Eine gläubige Frau, die Hijab und islamische Bekleidung trägt, ist schön wie ein Engel.  Was du etwas um Allahs (swt) Willen verbirgst, erhöht es seinen Wert.  Mit anderen Worten… den Körper einer Frau zu verbergen, erhöht seinen Wert in den Augen eines gläubigen Mannes.  <\/span><\/p>\r\n
