margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.islamreligion.com\/articles\/images\/Out_of_Egypt_-_The_Story_of_Passover_in_the_Quran_001.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Many Jews may be surprised to learn that Islam as preached by Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, was the same religion preached by Abraham, as well as of all other prophets mentioned in the Torah and the Bible.&nbsp; Muslims honor all the prophets of the Jews &ndash; Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David and Solomon among others &ndash; as their own prophets and believe that they all preached on message, that is the belief in the Oneness of God.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Here is how God ordered Muhammad to uphold the belief in the Oneness of God, which was upheld by Prophet Abraham:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&ldquo;Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>.&rdquo; (Quran 16:123)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">It is particularly noteworthy that in the Quran, there is no story that is recounted as many times and with as much emphasis, as the story of the bondage of the Children of Israel and their subsequent deliverance from Egypt&rsquo;s Pharaoh.&nbsp; The Quran quotes Moses as saying to his people:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&ldquo;O my people! &nbsp;Remember the blessings which God bestowed upon you when he raised up prophets among you, and made you your own masters, and granted unto you favors such as He had not granted to anyone else in the world.&rdquo; (Quran 5:20)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">It was Moses, with the help and guidance of God Almighty, who led them out of Egypt towards a land of promise.&nbsp; God in the Quran says what means:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&ldquo;O children of Israel! Remember those blessings of Mine with which I graced you, and how I favored you above all other people.&nbsp; And guard yourselves against a day when no soul will in aught avail another, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be received from it, nor will they be helped.&nbsp; And remember the time when We saved you from Pharaoh&rsquo;s people, who afflicted you with cruel suffering, slaughtering your sons and sparing only your women &mdash; which was an awesome trial from your Sustainer; and when We cleft the sea before you, and thus saved you and caused Pharaoh&rsquo;s people to drown before your very eyes.&rdquo; (Quran 2:47-50)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The story is narrated elsewhere in the Quran, where we may read these verses:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&ldquo;And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, \"I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims.\" Now? And you had disobeyed [Him] before and were of the corrupters? So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign. And indeed, many among the people, of Our signs, are heedless. And We had certainty settled the Children of Israel in an agreeable settlement and provided them with good things. And they did not differ until [after] knowledge had come to them. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ&rdquo; (Quran 10:90-93)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The torments inflicted on the Children of Israel by the Pharaoh were continuous and harsh; and so God sent His prophets Moses and Aaron (peace be upon them) to warn the tyrant that he should stop the oppression of the Children of Israel and free them.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">But he was arrogant and refused to free the Jews, until the last of the plagues God sent as punishment.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Under guidance from God, the Israelites fled Egypt; while the Pharaoh and his men pursued them.&nbsp; It seemed like their journey would end at the Red Sea which prevented their escape.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">But a miracle happened when Moses struck the water with his staff: The waves of the Red Sea parted and the Israelites hurried along the passage between the parted waves.&nbsp; Pharaoh and his soldiers followed; but by the time the Israelites reached the other shore, the sea closed in engulfing their pursuers.&nbsp; Thus the Israelites were delivered from bondage, and the Pharaoh and his people perished.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">When the Prophet Muhammad came to Madinah on the tenth of the lunar month of&nbsp;<em>Muharram<\/em>, he found that the Jews there were fasting.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-hadeeth-or-bible\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&ldquo;The Prophet asked them why they were fasting on this day, and they explained that it was the day that God saved the Children of Israel from the Pharaoh, and that Moses fasted in thanks on this day.&nbsp; de Dieu, qui &eacute;tait pr&ecirc;ch&eacute;e par le proph&egrave;te Abraham&nbsp;:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&nbsp;&laquo;&nbsp;Puis Nous t&rsquo;avons r&eacute;v&eacute;l&eacute;, (&ocirc; Mohammed)&nbsp;: &laquo;&nbsp;Suis la religion d&rsquo;Abraham, le probe.&nbsp; Il n&rsquo;&eacute;tait point du nombre des polyth&eacute;istes.&nbsp;&raquo; (Coran 16:123)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Il est int&eacute;ressant de constater que, dans le Coran, aucune autre histoire n&rsquo;est racont&eacute;e autant de fois, et avec autant d&rsquo;insistance, que celle de la servitude des enfants d&rsquo;Isra&euml;l et de leur d&eacute;livrance de l&rsquo;emprise du pharaon d&rsquo;&Eacute;gypte.&nbsp; Le Coran cite Mo&iuml;se disant &agrave; son peuple&nbsp;:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&nbsp;&laquo;&nbsp;Et (rappelez-vous) lorsque Mo&iuml;se dit &agrave; son peuple&nbsp;: &laquo;&nbsp;&Ocirc; mon peuple!&nbsp; Rappelez-vous le bienfait de Dieu sur vous, lorsqu&rsquo;Il a d&eacute;sign&eacute; des proph&egrave;tes parmi vous et a fait de vous des rois.&nbsp; Et Il vous a donn&eacute; ce qu&rsquo;Il n&rsquo;avait donn&eacute; &agrave; aucune autre de (Ses) cr&eacute;atures.&nbsp;&raquo; (Coran 5:20)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">C&rsquo;est Mo&iuml;se qui, avec l&rsquo;aide de Dieu, mena son peuple hors d&rsquo;&Eacute;gypte pour le guider vers une terre promise.&nbsp; Dieu dit, dans le Coran&nbsp;:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&nbsp;&laquo;&nbsp;&Ocirc; enfants d&rsquo;Isra&euml;l&nbsp;!&nbsp; Rappelez-vous Mon bienfait dont Je vous ai combl&eacute;s et comment Je vous ai pr&eacute;f&eacute;r&eacute;s &agrave; toutes les autres nations (de l&rsquo;&eacute;poque).&nbsp; Et pr&eacute;munissez-vous contre un jour o&ugrave; aucune &acirc;me ne profitera &agrave; une autre et o&ugrave; l&rsquo;on n&rsquo;acceptera d&rsquo;elle aucune intercession, o&ugrave; l&rsquo;on ne recevra d&rsquo;elle aucune compensation.&nbsp;&nbsp; Et ils ne seront point secourus.&nbsp; Et (rappelez-vous) lorsque Nous vous avons d&eacute;livr&eacute;s des gens de Pharaon qui vous infligeaient de terribles supplices, massacrant vos fils et &eacute;pargnant vos femmes.&nbsp; C&rsquo;&eacute;tait l&agrave; une tr&egrave;s grande &eacute;preuve de la part de votre Seigneur.&nbsp; Et (rappelez-vous) lorsque Nous vous avons fait traverser la mer et vous avons sauv&eacute;s en noyant les gens de Pharaon devant vos yeux.&nbsp;&raquo; (Coran 2:47-50)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">L&rsquo;histoire est racont&eacute;e ailleurs, dans le Coran, en ces termes:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&nbsp;&laquo;&nbsp;Et Nous f&icirc;mes traverser la mer aux enfants d&rsquo;Isra&euml;l.&nbsp; Pharaon et ses arm&eacute;es les poursuivirent avec acharnement et hargne&nbsp; jusqu&rsquo;&agrave; ce que, submerg&eacute; par les flots, (Pharaon) s&rsquo;exclame&nbsp;: &laquo;&nbsp;Je crois que nul ne doit &ecirc;tre ador&eacute; en dehors de Celui en qui croient les enfants d&rsquo;Isra&euml;l, et je suis du nombre des musulmans!&nbsp;&raquo;&nbsp; [Dieu dit]&nbsp;: &laquo;&nbsp;Quoi?&nbsp; Maintenant?&nbsp; Alors que jusqu&rsquo;ici tu &eacute;tais rebelle et semais la corruption sur terre?!&nbsp; Nous allons aujourd&rsquo;hui &eacute;pargner ton corps afin que tu sois un signe pour ceux qui viendront apr&egrave;s toi.&nbsp; Mais en v&eacute;rit&eacute;,&nbsp; beaucoup de gens ne pr&ecirc;tent aucune attention &agrave; Nos signes.&nbsp; Certes, Nous avons &eacute;tabli les enfants d&rsquo;Isra&euml;l dans un endroit honorable et Nous leur avons attribu&eacute; de bonnes nourritures.&nbsp; Par la suite, ce n&rsquo;est qu&rsquo;au moment o&ugrave; leur est parvenu le savoir qu&rsquo;ils se sont mis &agrave; diverger.&nbsp; Certes, ton Seigneur jugera entre eux, au Jour de la R&eacute;surrection, sur ce qui les divisait.&nbsp;&raquo; (Coran 10:90-93)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Les tourments inflig&eacute;s aux enfants d&rsquo;Isra&euml;l par le pharaon d&rsquo;&Eacute;gypte &eacute;taient s&eacute;v&egrave;res et incessants. &nbsp;C&rsquo;est pourquoi Dieu envoya Ses proph&egrave;tes Mo&iuml;se et Aaron (que la paix soit sur eux et que Dieu les loue) pour mettre en garde le tyran et lui intimer de mettre un terme &agrave; l&rsquo;oppression des enfants d&rsquo;Isra&euml;l et de les lib&eacute;rer de son joug.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Mais il &eacute;tait fort arrogant et refusa net, jusqu&rsquo;&agrave; la derni&egrave;re des plaies que Dieu lui envoya en guise de ch&acirc;timent.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Sous la protection de Dieu, les Isra&eacute;lites s&rsquo;enfuirent d&rsquo;&Eacute;gypte, Pharaon et ses hommes &agrave; leurs trousses.&nbsp; Puis, lorsqu&rsquo;ils arriv&egrave;rent devant la Mer Rouge, incapables de continuer, ils crurent leur fuite termin&eacute;e.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Mais un miracle se produisit&nbsp;: Mo&iuml;se frappa l&rsquo;eau avec son b&acirc;ton et la mer se s&eacute;para, cr&eacute;ant un passage salutaire. &nbsp;Les enfants d&rsquo;Isra&euml;l s&rsquo;y pr&eacute;cipit&egrave;rent. &nbsp;Pharaon et ses soldats tent&egrave;rent de les suivre, mais au moment o&ugrave; le dernier Isra&eacute;lite atteignit la rive oppos&eacute;e, la mer se referma sur eux. &nbsp;C&rsquo;est ainsi que les enfants d&rsquo;Isra&euml;l furent d&eacute;livr&eacute;s de la servitude et que Pharaon et ses soldats p&eacute;rirent.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Quand le proph&egrave;te Mohammed vint &agrave; M&eacute;dine le dixi&egrave;me jour du mois lunaire de Mouharram, il constata que les juifs je&ucirc;naient.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-hadeeth-or-bible\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&nbsp;&laquo;&nbsp;Le Proph&egrave;te leur demanda pourquoi ils je&ucirc;naient en ce jour particulier et ils lui expliqu&egrave;rent que c&rsquo;&eacute;tait le jour o&ugrave; Dieu avait sauv&eacute; les enfants d&rsquo;Isra&euml;l de Pharaon et que Mo&iuml;se avait pour habitude de je&ucirc;ner, ce jour-l&agrave;, en signe de reconnaissance.&nbsp; Le Proph&egrave;te dit alors&nbsp;: &laquo;&nbsp;Nous sommes plus &agrave; a cren&ccedil;a na Unicidade de Deus.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Aqui &eacute; como Deus ordenou a Muhammad a sustentar a cren&ccedil;a na Unicidade de Deus, que foi defendida pelo profeta Abra&atilde;o:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&ldquo;E revelamos-te isto (Muhammad), para que adotes o credo de Abra&atilde;o, o monote&iacute;sta, que jamais se contou entre os id&oacute;latras.&rdquo;&nbsp; (Alcor&atilde;o 16:123)<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">&Eacute; particularmente not&aacute;vel que no Alcor&atilde;o n&atilde;o exista uma hist&oacute;ria que seja recontada tantas vezes e com tanta &ecirc;nfase como a hist&oacute;ria da servid&atilde;o dos filhos de Israel e sua subsequente liberta&ccedil;&atilde;o do fara&oacute; do Egito.&nbsp;&nbsp;O Alcor&atilde;o cita Mois&eacute;s dizendo ao seu povo:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&ldquo;&Oacute; meu povo!<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Lembrai-vos das merc&ecirc;s e Deus para convosco, quando fez surgir, dentre v&oacute;s, profetas, e vos fez reis e vos concedeu o que n&atilde;o havia concedido a nenhum dos vossos contempor&acirc;neos.&rdquo; (Alcor&atilde;o 5:20)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Foi Mois&eacute;s, com a ajuda e orienta&ccedil;&atilde;o de Deus Todo-Poderoso, que os liderou para fora do Egito em dire&ccedil;&atilde;o &agrave; terra prometida.&nbsp; Deus no Alcor&atilde;o diz o que significa:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&ldquo;&Oacute; Filhos de Israel!<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Recordai-vos das Minhas merc&ecirc;s, com as quais vos agraciei, e de que vos preferi aos vossos contempor&acirc;neos.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>E temei o dia em que nenhuma alma poder&aacute; advogar por outra, nem lhe ser&aacute; admitida intercess&atilde;o alguma, nem lhe ser&aacute; aceita compensa&ccedil;&atilde;o, nem ningu&eacute;m ser&aacute; socorrido!<\/strong><strong>&nbsp; Recordai-vos de quando vos livramos do povo do Fara&oacute;, que vos infligia o mais cruel castigo, degolando os vossos filhos e deixando com vida as vossas mulheres. Naquilo tivestes uma grande prova do vosso Senhor. E de quando dividimos o mar e vos salvamos, e afogamos o povo do Fara&oacute;, enquanto olh&aacute;veis.&rdquo; Alcor&atilde;o 2:47-50)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-body-text-1\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">A hist&oacute;ria &eacute; narrada em outra passagem no Alcor&atilde;o, onde podemos ler esses vers&iacute;culos:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"w-quran\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>&ldquo;E fizemos atravessar o mar os israelitas; por&eacute;m o Fara&oacute; e seu ex&eacute;rcito perseguiram-no in&iacute;qua e hostilmente at&eacute; que, estando a ponto de afogar-se, o Fara&oacute; disse: &ldquo;Creio agora que n&atilde;o h&aacute; mais divindade al&eacute;m de Deus em que creem os israelitas, e sou um dos submissos!&rdquo;<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>(E foi-lhe dito): Agora cr&ecirc;s, ao passo que antes te havias rebelado e eras um dos corruptores!<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Por&eacute;m, hoje salvamos apenas o teu corpo, para que sirvas de exemplo &agrave; tua posteridade. Em verdade, h&aacute; muitos humanos que est&atilde;o negligenciando os Nossos vers&iacute;culos.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>E concedemos aos israelitas um agrad&aacute;vel abrigo e os agraciamos com todo o bem. Mas disputaram entre si, depois de receberem o conhecimento.
